In Solidaridad, Quintana Roo, two buses have been introduced to provide free transportation for students and teachers in Playa del Carmen. Each bus can accommodate 43 seated passengers and is equipped with air conditioning, security cameras, as well as provisions for transporting bicycles and students with disabilities.
The newly established bus routes will connect the University of Quintana Roo with Maya Centre and Villas del Sol. The service will run from Monday to Friday, from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., benefiting a large number of students who attend these educational institutions on a daily basis. This initiative is part of the municipal administration's commitment to enhance mobility and support the student community by offering safe and accessible transportation.
Guillermo Galland, the head of local transportation, stated that in addition to the 43 seated passengers, the buses will allow for an additional 15 percent capacity for standing passengers.
