Mexico City — Quintonil, the Polanco restaurant led by chef Jorge Vallejo, has been named the best restaurant in Latin America and fourth best in the world by The 50 Best Restaurants 2026.
The ranking was announced during a ceremony at the Teatro Municipal in Lima, Peru, where organizers unveiled the full international list.

What makes Quintonil stand out
Quintonil’s kitchen draws on sustainable produce sourced from orchards and fruit trees across different regions of Mexico. Its dishes aim to showcase the country’s range of flavors through a mix of technique, elegant plating and traditional ingredients. The restaurant also holds two Michelin stars.

The dessert menu includes creme fraiche with melipona bee honey, and the restaurant offers rotating pairings built around Mexican wines.
The dining experience also reflects the work of Alejandra Flores, Vallejo’s wife, who oversees hospitality at the restaurant.
