Four men charged with sexual crimes in Quintana Roo

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Four men have been formally charged with sexual abuse and rape in separate cases across Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Benito Juárez, the State Prosecutor’s Office announced.

Judges ordered pretrial detention for all four for up to two years or the duration of their trials.

Dolores “N” was charged with raping two 12-year-old victims in the Villas del Sol neighborhood of Playa del Carmen. The case came to light when officials from the prosecutor’s “Prevention through Education” program visited the victims’ school and identified minors who were using crystal methamphetamine as a result of the abuse, which had begun when they were 10. The girls were immediately referred for psychological therapy and trauma support.

In Tulum, Johan Deiby “N” was charged with raping a minor coworker. On May 21, he allegedly tricked her into going to his home in the downtown area, where he gave her a drink that caused her to lose consciousness and then assaulted her.

Also in Tulum, Anastacio “N” was charged with attempted rape of a minor. The abuse allegedly occurred when the victim was between 8 and 12 years old, and he threatened to kill her mother and brother if she told anyone.

In Benito Juárez, José Gaspar “N” was charged with sexually abusing a family member from the time she was 10 until she turned 14. The assaults took place in a home in the Supermanzana 232 neighborhood.
