Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo Mobility Institute has introduced new public transit cards in Cancún, giving riders a more convenient way to pay for trips and top up their balances without relying solely on service centers.
The physical card costs 35 pesos. Students and older adults pay a discounted fare of 10 pesos, while people with permanent disabilities receive the card free of charge. Riders who prefer not to carry a physical card can download a digital version at no cost through the MOBI app.
Cards can currently be purchased and recharged at Oxxo, 7-Eleven, Dunosusa, Willys, and GoMart stores. The institute said it will expand its network of sales points in the coming days to make the payment system even more accessible.
The measure is part of a broader set of mobility initiatives the state government is promoting across Quintana Roo, which also includes the rollout of electric transit routes in other municipalities.
