Cancún, Quintana Roo — More than 411,000 students will return to classrooms across Quintana Roo on Monday as the state begins the 2026-2027 school year, Gov. Mara Lezama announced.
Of that total, 362,466 students attend public schools and 48,659 are enrolled in private institutions. Classes will resume in all 11 municipalities of the state.
Lezama said the state government has fully prepared for the start of the school cycle, including distribution of school supplies, backpacks and uniforms to help families cope with back-to-school expenses.
“We want them to return with enthusiasm and enjoy this school year,” she said.
The governor added that after participating in back-to-school activities, she will travel to Chetumal, the state capital, to accompany the start of classes there.
