Cancún, Quintana Roo — Police found two men dead from gunshot wounds Monday afternoon on a dirt road in the Colonia México neighborhood.
Authorities received an anonymous call to the 911 emergency line around 6:30 p.m. after neighbors reported two people lying at the edge of the dirt road leading to the Francisco May settlement.
Officers who responded confirmed that both men had no vital signs and cordoned off the area.
According to preliminary information, the victims, both estimated to be between 30 and 35 years old, were shirtless and lying next to each other. Investigators initially suspect the men may have been abducted, taken to the site, and shot, although officials have not confirmed that account.
Forensic experts processed the scene and transported the bodies to the Forensic Medical Service, where autopsies will be performed. The victims have not yet been identified.
