Tulum, Quintana Roo — A driver fled the scene after causing a traffic accident at the intersection of 4 Oriente and Centauro Norte streets, leaving only material damage, authorities said.
According to initial reports, a black Chevrolet Suburban with license plate PXF-052-R allegedly ran a stop sign and failed to yield, colliding with a gray Honda CR-V bearing plates UUR-390-K.
The impact caused significant damage to the front of the Honda, while the Suburban driver abandoned the vehicle before police arrived, without taking responsibility.
Officials stated that the license plates of the suspect vehicle were fully identified, which could facilitate locating the driver and further investigations.
Despite the force of the collision, no injuries were reported. Traffic police arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation and initiate legal proceedings.
The affected party is expected to file a formal complaint so that authorities can determine the fugitive driver’s liability and, if applicable, impose legal penalties.
