Cozumel, Quintana Roo — Civil protection officers rescued a disoriented sea turtle that had wandered out of its habitat and safely returned it to the ocean, authorities said.

The rescue was made possible by quick-thinking citizens who alerted officials about the turtle’s presence in a hazardous area. A specialized team responded to the scene, securing the animal and carrying out maneuvers to ensure its safety.

After being evaluated by experts, the turtle was released into ocean waters without further complications. Officials highlighted the importance of community collaboration in protecting marine wildlife.

Authorities urged the public not to approach or handle marine species improperly, as this could endanger the animals. They also called for continued conservation efforts to maintain ecological balance along the coast.
