Cozumel, Quintana Roo — The Cozumel Parks and Museums Foundation (FPMC) will host a second free performance of “Disney Through the Ages,” a musical recital featuring local talent, on Friday, August 7, at 7 p.m. at the Cha’an Ka’an Planetarium.
The show will be performed by students of the FPMC’s Singing Workshop, led by instructor Argelia Chacón Díaz at the BiblioAvión Gervasio. The recital combines live interpretations with audiovisual clips from beloved Disney films, creating an immersive experience for children, teens, and adults.
Dianela Cervantes Chi, the foundation’s director of pedagogy and social assistance, said the first presentation, held as part of the workshop’s closing, received strong feedback from families.
“We received very positive comments, and many people expressed interest in seeing the show again or attending for the first time,” Cervantes Chi said. “That’s why we decided to open this second performance, especially so more children and families can enjoy this musical experience.”
Juanita Alonso Marrufo, FPMC’s general director, said the foundation remains committed to bringing the arts to the community, in line with the New Agreement for Welfare and Development of Quintana Roo, an initiative promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa to foster learning, inclusion, and development opportunities for everyone.
“We believe access to culture and the arts is a tool to strengthen the social fabric and generate well-being,” Alonso Marrufo said. “Activities like this recital allow people of all ages to discover and develop their talents in creative and educational environments.”
The Singing Workshop will resume in September and will continue to be offered free of charge to anyone interested in developing their vocal skills.
The FPMC invites the community to attend the special presentation and enjoy an evening of emotion, memories, and music with the songs that have accompanied generations through Disney’s most beloved stories.
