Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A gray Hyundai i10 carrying a man and two minors overturned on Federal Highway 307 near Paamul, prompting an emergency response amid initial reports that children had been injured.
According to preliminary reports, the car was traveling north toward Playa del Carmen when the driver lost control near a curve, apparently because of wet pavement.
The vehicle left the roadway and came to rest several meters inside a brushy area alongside the highway. Motorists who witnessed the crash called for ambulances through the 911 emergency line.
The National Guard took charge of the scene and coordinated efforts to remove the vehicle with the help of a tow truck.
Authorities who arrived at the site ruled out serious injuries among the occupants. Officials did not specify whether anyone in the car required hospital transport.
