Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Mujeres Exitosas alliance will hold a charity walk, “Camina por Ellas: Cruzando el puente trascendemos,” on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. on Cancún’s Nichupté Bridge, with proceeds benefiting Fundación Luna A.C. and Lazos de Vida.
Organizers said 100 percent of the money raised will go to the two groups. Fundación Luna will support the recovery of breast cancer survivors, while Lazos de Vida will provide emotional support to patients and their families.
“Today, as representatives of various associations, we take the microphone not to talk about economic development, entrepreneurship or leadership. Today we come to talk about the fundamental pillar that sustains all of that, which is health and life,” said Claudia Villuenda, president of Acotur.
Routes of 1 and 5 kilometers
The event is part of the Puenteando initiative and offers one-kilometer and five-kilometer routes. Registration costs 275 pesos through Passline.com, and participants are asked to wear pink.
“This opportunity shows that by joining forces we can do something for the community, for society, and make a difference. However small it may be, if we add up all these small differences and small changes, we will achieve something very big for Quintana Roo,” said Leonor Villafaña of AFEET.
The organizations invited the public to take part on Oct. 25, noting that every step supports a cause that transforms lives.
