Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — Security staff at the Puerto Aventuras residential and tourist complex found a man dead near a cenote on the property, and preliminary information indicates he was an employee of the complex itself.
The discovery was made at about 10:30 a.m. at lot 18 on Puerto Aventuras Boulevard, close to the Aquamarina condominiums. A night watchman came across the man while making his patrol rounds.
After finding him, the guard went to the security booth to call for help from his colleagues, who dialed the 911 emergency line. Officers from the Public Security Department went to the scene to respond to the report.
Personnel from the State Prosecutor’s Office later arrived to carry out investigative procedures and remove the body.
The cause of death has not yet been determined and will have to be established through the corresponding forensic examinations, authorities said.
