Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo — A court has sentenced Natanael Gómez Asenso, also identified in case records as Natanael Gómez Ascencio, to 108 years in prison after convicting him of raping and sexually abusing his three underage stepdaughters in the village of José María Pino Suárez, in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
The Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office said its unit specializing in sexual crimes and the free development of personality secured the conviction after a criminal trial against the defendant.
Attacks Carried Out While the Mother Was at Work
According to the investigation, the assaults took place in the family home while the girls’ mother was working as the manager of a vegetable shop. The children were left in the defendant’s care during her shifts, and prosecutors say he used those periods to touch them and sexually assault them.
The man also threatened to beat the girls if they told anyone what had happened, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
The minors eventually told their mother, but she did not believe them, so they turned to their grandmother. The grandmother went to the authorities to file a formal complaint, which launched the investigation.
108 Years and a Fine
For the rape charge, the court handed down a 30-year sentence for each of the three victims, covering incidents reported in May, between June and July, and in August 2024.
The court added six years in prison for each of the minors for sexual abuse, bringing the total to 108 years behind bars.
The convicted man must also pay a fine of 456,354.85 pesos, according to the Prosecutor’s Office report.
