Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Municipal Women’s Institute (IMM) of Benito Juárez has provided more than 26,545 services to over 22,300 women in 2026, with a focus on health, psychological care, legal advice, violence prevention and economic autonomy.
Miroslava Andrea Reguera Martínez, the institute’s director, reported that the most requested services included 6,280 psychological consultations, 4,543 primary medical checkups and 3,810 legal consultations, along with comprehensive support for women, adolescents and girls.
A mobile medical unit conducted 1,085 Pap smears, 723 colposcopies, 500 pelvic ultrasounds, 500 breast exams and placed 630 intrauterine devices, aimed at early disease detection and expanding access to medical services.
The institute also promoted economic independence by enrolling 3,600 women in the “Ellas Facturan” program and involving 2,500 women in bazaars, entrepreneurship workshops and training activities.
Additionally, the IMM organized community outreach brigades, information sessions and school activities on gender equality, violence prevention and sexual and reproductive rights, reaching thousands of people.
