Cancun, Quintana Roo — Cancun’s tourism authorities are stepping up international promotion ahead of the winter season, with delegations set to attend three major travel industry events in Argentina, Jamaica and the United Kingdom.
Pablo de Zulueta Razo, Secretary of Tourism for Benito Juarez, said the strategy aims to strengthen Cancun’s position as a leading destination and attract the attention of wholesalers, travel agencies and potential tourists before the end of the year.
The first stop will be the International Tourism Fair (FIT) 2026 in Argentina, scheduled for September 26-29. That event is seen as a key platform to connect with the South American market.
Next, Cancun will seek to reaffirm its leadership at the World Travel Awards 2026 for the Caribbean and Americas region, set for October 11 in Jamaica. Cancun has multiple nominations for the awards, which de Zulueta described as among the most prestigious in the global travel industry. He said the delegation’s presence is vital to showcase the quality of the destination’s services.
The international tour will conclude in Europe with the World Travel Market (WTM) London, running November 3-5. “This important three-day event in London is one of the world’s most influential business platforms,” de Zulueta said.
