Cancún Reveals Full Grito de Independencia Schedule, With Lucero and Mijares Headlining Free Concert

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Cancún will mark the 214th anniversary of the Grito de Independencia with an evening of music, folklore and spectacle at the Palacio Municipal, closing with a free concert by Mexican pop duo Lucero and Mijares.

The celebration takes place on Tuesday, September 15, and admission is free to the public, according to the official program.

  • 7:30 p.m. — Hosting by Alex Yáñez and Chucho Robles
  • 7:40 p.m. — “Evolution” illusion and magic show
  • 8:25 p.m. — Performance by Trío Jarocho Fina Estampa
  • 8:45 p.m. — Municipal Folkloric Company
  • 9:00 p.m. — Mariachi Vino Tinto
  • 9:10 p.m. — Performance by Marcela Anzures
  • 9:30 p.m. — Municipal Folkloric Company
  • 9:45 p.m. — Performance by Erick Palma
  • 10:15 p.m. — Municipal Folkloric Company
  • 10:30 p.m. — Municipal Orchestra
  • 10:50 p.m. — Ceremonial Grito de Independencia
  • 11:15 p.m. — Sound and light show featuring 200 drones
  • 11:35 p.m. — Headline concert by Lucero and Mijares

Organizers said that after the traditional cry of independence, attendees will watch a drone display that will light up the night sky over the city. The Lucero and Mijares concert will then bring the celebration to a close.
