Tulum, Quintana Roo — The jungle around Tulum will host a mountain bike race on November 1, when the Xibalba MTB Challenge 2026 sends riders along trails that test their endurance, speed and technical skill while promoting sports tourism in the Mexican Caribbean destination.
Organizers are billing the event under the slogan “The jungle opens its paths,” and are preparing a day of competition for mountain bikers and fans of the discipline. The race is designed to draw athletes who want to combine physical exertion with a ride through the region’s distinctive rainforest landscapes.
A different kind of racecourse
The Xibalba MTB Challenge 2026 is being presented as a way to strengthen mountain biking as a discipline and encourage participation among riders who enjoy endurance events. Organizers say the natural conditions around Tulum allow for sporting activities well outside conventional venues.
Beyond the competition itself, the event aims to help diversify the municipality’s tourism offerings by attracting athletes, their companions and visitors looking for nature and adventure experiences.
The call for entries is open to cyclists interested in taking part in this edition. As of the information released so far, organizers have not specified course distances, race categories, start times or an estimated number of competitors. Those details are expected to be available through a QR code included in the official announcement.
With the race, Tulum is preparing to welcome a day of mountain biking in which physical endurance and the region’s natural scenery will take center stage. On November 1, the Xibalba MTB Challenge 2026 will look to bring riders together under a single goal: conquering the paths of the jungle.
