Authorities Raid Three Properties in Cancun in Human Trafficking Investigation

Cancun, Quintana Roo — State prosecutors, backed by federal and municipal forces, raided three properties in Cancun on Friday night as part of an investigation into human trafficking for forced prostitution.

The operation began around 9 p.m. in the Supermanzana 66 neighborhood, when investigators from the State Prosecutor’s Office’s Specialized Unit for Combating Human Trafficking arrived at the intersection of Calles 3 and 22. They were accompanied by municipal police, the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and the Mexican Navy, who provided security for the execution of court-authorized search warrants.

According to information gathered at the scene, at least three homes on Calle 3 were searched. The raids stemmed from an investigation launched after multiple complaints were filed with the Public Prosecutor’s Office alleging human trafficking in the area.

During the searches, specialized forensic experts and ministerial personnel collected evidence to strengthen the case. The properties were documented, and potential evidence was seized for analysis.

As of Saturday morning, the State Prosecutor’s Office had not officially released the results of the operation, including whether any victims were located or arrests were made.

After the searches, all three properties were sealed with official tags and placed under the control of the prosecutor’s office to prevent access while the investigation continues. Authorities said further legal action will depend on the evidence gathered.
