Cancún, Quintana Roo — Following an intense police chase in the Valle Verde neighborhood of Cancún, two alleged criminals ended up at the General Jesús Kumate Hospital after being struck by the patrol car that was pursuing them.
The incident occurred around 8:12 p.m. when a suspected criminal act was reported in that area of the city. According to preliminary information, the subjects were committing robberies in the area, prompting police officers to immediately respond to the location.
Upon arrival, officers observed two individuals on a motorcycle who, upon noticing police presence, attempted to flee. During the pursuit, the situation spiraled out of control and the patrol car ended up running over the alleged criminals.
As a result of the impact, both subjects suffered various injuries and were transported to the General Jesús Kumate Hospital, where they remain under police custody and medical supervision, awaiting recovery to determine their legal situation.
At this time, further details of the incident are unknown, as is the identity of the alleged perpetrators.
It should be noted that the perpetrators apparently had firearms with them, which increases the seriousness of the situation.
