Tulum, Quintana Roo — The skies above Tulum hosted a surprise aerial rehearsal on Saturday, offering a preview of the upcoming Air Show 2026 scheduled for April 23-26 at Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport.
Residents and tourists watched as the Mexican Air Force’s Águilas Aztecas acrobatic team performed exhibition flights during practice sessions for the main event. The aerial maneuvers drew attention from various locations throughout the popular tourist destination.
Simultaneously, Mexican Army paratroopers known as Guerreros Águila conducted parachute descents onto the sandy beaches of Jaguar Park, surprising onlookers with their display.
The Air Show 2026 will feature not only aerial demonstrations but also two days of NASCAR Mexico Series events, creating a combined aviation and motorsports program.
During the preview event, General Disraelí Gómez Herrera and Tulum Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo extended a public invitation to attend the main show. “We cordially invite everyone to join us for the Tulum 2026 Air Show,” they announced. “There will be four days of events from April 23-26 featuring aerial demonstrations, our F-5 aircraft, the national Águilas Aztecas squadron, and the Mexican Army’s jump team.”
Officials also announced an open house event on Friday, April 24, where attendees can get up close with aircraft, pilots, NASCAR vehicles, and participating teams. “We’re ready to welcome everyone and look forward to greeting visitors,” they added.
With such events, Tulum continues to diversify its tourism offerings by adding high-level spectacles expected to attract both domestic and international visitors.
