Tulum Gender Equality Office Signs Training Agreement With Hotel

Officials and hotel representatives sign a training agreement in Tulum

Tulum, Quintana Roo — The municipal Gender Equality Office has signed a formal collaboration agreement with a hotel to expand training and awareness programs for tourism sector workers.

The deal aims to strengthen coordination between the city government and private industry through programs focused on personal, professional and social development.

Anaí Bates, director of the Gender Equality Office, said the agreement legally formalizes activities the department will carry out with participating companies for the rest of the year.

“We are strengthening ties with the private sector through a legal document that establishes the activities we will carry out. The hotel will receive workshops, training and talks for its employees on various topics,” Bates said.

Topics covered include self-esteem, financial education, empowerment, gender equality, violence prevention and human rights.

Bates noted that the department has a broad catalog of training modules, and each company’s human resources team can select priority topics or suggest new training needs.

The Gender Equality Office has previously worked with several hotels in the municipality, but this is the first time the relationship has been formalized through a specific agreement with a hotel, Bates said.

The goal is to replicate this model with more tourism businesses, expanding the reach of training programs and fostering a workplace culture based on equality, respect and comprehensive personal development, officials said.
