Tourist Van and Pickup Truck Collide on Playa del Carmen Boulevard, At Least 3 Injured
Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — At least three people were injured Friday morning when a tourist transport van and a private pickup truck collided on Bulevar Playa del Carmen, authorities said.
The crash occurred around 9 a.m. on the south-to-north lanes near the Blue Bay hotel. According to witnesses, a Ram pickup truck rear-ended the tourist van, which was then thrust onto the median strip on the far left side and crashed into a metal pole supporting a surveillance camera.
Paramedics from the Civil Protection agency treated at least three injured people, including two apparent British tourists. Officials were determining whether any required hospital transport.
Police cordoned off the area to investigate, causing slow traffic on the boulevard as of 10 a.m., officials said.
