Tulum, Quintana Roo — A man identified as David “N,” alias “Rambo,” has been formally charged with human trafficking after allegedly recruiting three teenage girls and forcing them into criminal activities, the state prosecutor’s office announced.

According to the investigation, the suspect captured and recruited the adolescents, then transported and housed them, allegedly to integrate them into a criminal group. He provided them with black clothing for identification and assigned them various illicit tasks.

Prosecutors said the accused coordinated drug sales and distribution, monitored businesses, and issued threats, using the minors to carry out these activities.

After the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Human Trafficking presented evidence, a judge ordered the suspect to stand trial on charges of forced labor and using minors in criminal activities.

The court imposed two years of pretrial detention, or the duration of the trial, as a precautionary measure.
