Quintana Roo, Mexico — The Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office (FGE), in coordination with the European Union and the organization LabCo, has begun the implementation of a Focused Deterrence Strategy for the Reduction of Violence in the state, with the objective of preventing and reducing this crime through actions directed at the highest risk aggressors.
The activities began this Thursday with a meeting led by the Attorney General, Raciel López Salazar, in which the foundations for implementing this strategy were established.
The meeting was attended by LabCo's CEO, Thomas Favennec; Citizen Security Projects Coordinator, Adrián Morales; specialist Lilia Montoya; Benito Juárez's Secretary of Citizen Security, Jaime Padilla Barrientos; as well as staff from the Specialized Group for Attention to Family and Gender Violence, and specialized prosecutors and directors of the Prosecutor's Office.
According to the FGE, these actions are part of Governor Mara Lezama's instructions to strengthen protection measures for women, girls, boys, and adolescents, through an evidence-based preventive model that seeks to identify and intervene directly with the most dangerous or repeat offenders.
The strategy seeks to identify and intervene with high-risk aggressors to reduce recidivism, prevent femicides, and protect women, girls, boys, and adolescents.
