Mexico City — Athletes from Quintana Roo wrapped up the Pan American U15 Wrestling Championships with six medals, representing Mexico at the event held at the Mexican Olympic Committee.
The state delegation secured one gold, one silver, and four bronze medals. Five athletes competed, selected by the Mexican Federation of Associated Wrestling Medalists (FEMELA) and supported by the Quintana Roo Sports Commission (CODEQ).
Darani Acosta Maldonado stood out by winning gold in the beach wrestling discipline in the 54 kg category, and also added a silver in freestyle. In the women’s division, Hanna González Caballero earned bronze in the 59 kg category.
In the men’s division, Adrián Granados Oliva and Jeremy López Cetzal took bronze in Greco-Roman at 57 kg and 68 kg, respectively, while Eduardo Leciano Mut claimed another third place in freestyle.
After their international performance, the Quintana Roo athletes returned to Chetumal International Airport, where they were welcomed by their families.
