Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo — Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz toured the construction site of the Luum Verde housing development, a project under the federal government’s Vivienda para el Bienestar program in coordination with Infonavit, the national housing fund.
During the visit, Muñoz was accompanied by Infonavit’s Quintana Roo delegate Gerardo García Hernández and Antonio Leonardo Garrido, general director of the construction company Civitas. They presented detailed project plans and reported on progress to date.
The municipal government is maintaining ongoing coordination with Infonavit, the construction company, and other authorities to ensure quality construction and proper urban planning for families in Puerto Morelos.
“We continue working together with the federal government, Infonavit, and the state government so that workers in Puerto Morelos have access to dignified, affordable housing with quality services in spaces planned for family well-being,” Muñoz said.
The tour also included Rolando Melo Novelo, secretary of Urban Development and Land Management, who joined the mayor in inspecting the construction of three-story buildings that will house 1,120 units, each measuring 60 square meters.
The officials reviewed the layout of a model home, the materials used, and the design of each living area. Each unit will include two bedrooms, a living-dining room, a bathroom, a laundry room, and a designated parking space.
García Hernández noted strong interest from Infonavit beneficiaries in Puerto Morelos who earn between one and two minimum wages.
Authorities said the first 40 apartments in the Luum Verde development are expected to be delivered by early July. The complex will also feature a bicycle lane, playgrounds, and a recreation center.
