Cozumel, Quintana Roo — Police arrested a man on the island after finding him in possession of suspected narcotics and a firearm during a routine patrol.
The suspect, identified as Zeus Israel “N,” was stopped on state highway C1 after he tried to leave when he noticed the officers. According to preliminary reports, he had been handling a bag containing multiple packages that appeared to be drugs.
During the search, officers found a 9mm pistol with live rounds, along with a significant quantity of packaged dried plant material and white powder, believed to be marijuana and cocaine.
Authorities also seized a compact vehicle, a backpack containing more packages, and mobile phones, all of which were secured as evidence.
The suspect and the seized items were turned over to the relevant authorities, who will continue the investigation for possible drug dealing and illegal weapons possession charges.
