Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The Playa Grill Fest 2026 brought together chefs, grill masters, local producers, and visitors on June 16 and 17 at Parque Fundadores, cementing its place as one of the Riviera Maya’s premier culinary events.
Over two days, attendees enjoyed cooking demonstrations, tastings, live music, and a wide range of food centered on grilling, smoking, and open-fire techniques. The festival featured more than 20 exhibitors and 14 invited grill masters, who presented everything from premium cuts to traditional dishes cooked over coals.
One of the main attractions was the preparation of a whole cow on the grill, along with suckling pigs and other slow-cooked dishes that drew the attention of tourists and locals alike.
The event also included participation from culinary schools, regional producers, and artisans, strengthening the link between gastronomy, culture, and local economic development.
Organizers said the festival’s main goal is to position Playa del Carmen as a top-tier culinary destination while creating opportunities for entrepreneurs, restaurateurs, and regional producers.
“We want Playa Grill Fest to become a tradition for the Mexican Caribbean, promoting the gastronomic richness of our region and generating significant economic benefits for local families and businesses,” the organization said in a statement.
The activities took place in a family-friendly atmosphere, with recreational areas, social spaces, and musical performances complementing the culinary experience along the Caribbean Sea.
With the success of its second edition, Playa Grill Fest is strengthening its profile as a reference festival in southeastern Mexico and aims to become a must-attend event for barbecue and food lovers in future years.
