Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — State prosecutors announced the arrest of nine men on drug dealing charges following three separate operations in Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos. Authorities seized illicit substances, firearms reserved for military use, and other evidence.
Puerto Morelos Operation
On the Puerto Morelos-Leona Vicario highway, investigators arrested Ezequiel “N”, Enrique “N”, Eduardo Neftaly “N”, and Brayan Alejandro “N”. Items seized included:
- Marijuana
- One handgun
- Five long guns
- 15 magazines
- 340 rounds of ammunition
- Tactical vests
- Cell phones
- A Nissan vehicle
Playa del Carmen: San Judas Tadeo
On Avenida Benito Juárez at Avenida Lilis, officers detained Kevin Eduardo “N”, Jhonny Alfredo “N”, Alfonso “N”, and José Alfredo “N”. Authorities found:
- Marijuana
- Methamphetamine-like solid fragments
Playa del Carmen: Avenida Sur
In a third intervention at Avenida Sur and Avenida Laak, Luis Manuel “N” was arrested. Items seized included:
- Marijuana
- Crystal meth-like granular substance
- One handgun with a loaded magazine
- Ammunition
- Two long guns
All suspects and evidence were turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will open investigations and determine their legal status within the constitutional deadline. Authorities said they are investigating possible links to drug distribution networks in the region.
