Cozumel, Quintana Roo — Women entrepreneurs on the island will get a new opportunity to grow their businesses through the Mujer Es Emprender expo sale, organized by the Quintana Roo Women’s Secretariat (SEMUJERES) to strengthen women’s economic autonomy by providing direct sales venues.

The event will take place from June 26 to 28, 2026, at Parque Benito Juárez, where residents and tourists can purchase products made by local women entrepreneurs, supporting the local economy and small women-led businesses.

The initiative is part of the state government’s efforts to promote economic inclusion and create more development opportunities for female producers and artisans.

SEMUJERES Promotes Female Entrepreneurship in Cozumel

The Mujer Es Emprender commercial fair aims to become a platform that allows women entrepreneurs to expand their market, increase visibility for their products, and strengthen their productive projects.

According to SEMUJERES, such gatherings help generate income for women-headed households, build support networks among entrepreneurs, and promote sustainable business models.

Officials emphasize that economic independence is a key tool for reducing inequalities and strengthening women’s participation in the state’s productive life.

When and Where

The expo will run for three consecutive days at one of the island’s most visited spots.

  • Dates: Friday, June 26; Saturday, June 27; Sunday, June 28, 2026.
  • Time: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Location: Parque Benito Juárez, Avenida Rafael E. Melgar, between Benito Juárez and 1st Sur, facing the Cozumel boardwalk.

The location will give both locals and national and international visitors access to the products and services offered by participating entrepreneurs.

Handicrafts, Jewelry, and Local Products

During the expo, participants will display a wide variety of handmade and locally made products, including:

  • Handcrafted jewelry
  • Designer costume jewelry
  • Fashion accessories
  • Traditional handicrafts
  • Textile products
  • Creative crafts
  • Decorative items

The offerings aim to promote local talent and create commercialization opportunities for projects within Cozumel’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Local Consumption Strengthens Family Economies

One of the main goals of Mujer Es Emprender is to encourage local consumption and strengthen the circular economy on the island. Each purchase at the stalls represents direct income for women entrepreneurs and their families, helping consolidate small businesses that generate employment and boost economic activity in the municipality.

SEMUJERES noted that supporting local producers not only benefits those who make the products but also drives value chains that strengthen community economic development.

Tourism and Entrepreneurship Meet in Cozumel’s Heart

Holding the expo in one of the island’s most iconic areas will also bring Cozumel’s artisan and creative offerings to national and international visitors. This will allow entrepreneurs to increase brand exposure and generate new business opportunities in one of Quintana Roo’s top tourist destinations.

Authorities invited the public to browse the stalls, learn the stories behind each project, and support the female talent driving the island’s economic development.
