Playa del Carmen, Mexico — The Mexican Real Estate Industry Association (AMII) celebrated its tenth anniversary, having been founded in this city and achieving recognition from authorities across all three levels of government, as well as earning the trust of both citizens and investors.
Generating Significant Economic Impact
Wilber Gutiérrez Álvarez, the national president of AMII, acknowledged that the journey has not been easy. However, he stated that the association has consistently focused on addressing one of the most lucrative activities in Quintana Roo, second only to tourism, which generates significant economic spillover and provides certainty that this vacation destination remains attractive and profitable.
"We enjoy the recognition of all authorities, at the municipal, state, and federal levels, and that is a great feeling," Gutiérrez Álvarez said. "To have a Quintana Roo-based association with national reach that is ultimately concerned with and dedicated to serving a dynamic sector like real estate, which represents the second most important economic activity after tourism—today we are celebrating."
Over One Thousand Real Estate Advisors Professionalized
He added that one of the great achievements over these ten years has been the professionalization of more than one thousand real estate advisors, making the industry more reliable and protecting clients from fraud.
"We did generate a certain level of irritation because of the different way we were doing things, but doing them correctly," he stated. "That did not sit well with some other people. However, the consistency and integrity with which we have operated have ultimately allowed us to earn that recognition today. In terms of professionalization, we have trained more than one thousand real estate advisors over these years, and this is very important to us."
