Mexican Investigators Foil Kidnapping Attempt of US Citizen in Cancun Hotel Zone
Cancun, Quintana Roo — Investigators from the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office foiled a kidnapping attempt in Cancun’s hotel zone, rescuing a US citizen and arresting three suspects.
The suspects — identified as Francisco Javier “N”, Eduardo Alberto “N”, and Juan Carlos “N” — were arrested on April 22 on Pok Ta Pok Avenue in the municipality of Benito Juárez after being caught in the act by state investigative police.
According to the investigation, officers observed the men struggling with the victim next to a blue vehicle. The foreigner was calling for help as the suspects tried to force him into the car, prompting the officers to intervene.
The three men were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. During a hearing, a judge ordered them to stand trial based on evidence presented by the State Prosecutor’s Office, and the investigation continues.
