Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The State Prosecutor’s Office carried out two raids in the municipalities of Othón P. Blanco and Cozumel, leading to the seizure of suspected narcotics, the recovery of a vehicle with an active theft report, and the securing of the properties involved.
The operations were conducted jointly with personnel from the Mexican Navy, the National Guard, and the Public Security Department, as part of investigations by ministerial authorities.
The first raid took place at an auto repair shop in the Proterritorio neighborhood of Chetumal, at the intersection of 24 de Noviembre and Tihosuco streets. During the search, investigators found several transparent bags containing green, dry plant matter consistent with marijuana.
At the same location, authorities also seized a security camera, a modem, and a wooden rifle stock. In addition, officers recovered a gray vehicle that had an active theft report. The car and all evidence were turned over to the appropriate authorities.
The second intervention occurred at a property in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood of Cozumel, where officials seized green, dry plant matter believed to be marijuana.
After completing both searches, personnel placed official seizure seals on the two properties, which remain under the custody of the State Prosecutor’s Office.
Investigations will continue to determine the possible connection of the seized items to criminal acts and to establish responsibilities as inquiries progress.
