Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — In an unprecedented effort to bring joy to children, the state government, through the DIF Quintana Roo (Family Development System), in coordination with the DIF Playa del Carmen, simultaneously celebrated Children’s Day in more than 100 communities across the state, including 13 localities in the municipality. The day was filled with color, laughter, and unforgettable moments for thousands of families.
The official kickoff in Playa del Carmen took place in front of the Municipal DIF offices, where State Government Secretary Cristina Torres, along with Eduardo Asencio, honorary president of DIF Playa del Carmen; General Director Deyanira Martínez; Bárbara Alpuche, representative of the State DIF in the Northern Zone; and other authorities, gave the starting signal for 13 vehicles that formed a convoy heading to various communities.
During his speech, Eduardo Asencio celebrated that children were receiving great surprises thanks to the coordinated work between the state government, led by Governor Mara Lezama, and the municipal government headed by Mayor Estefanía Mercado.
Cristina Torres reiterated that “children come first” and emphasized that the main goal is for every child to have an unforgettable day. “With the teamwork of the Municipal DIF, State DIF, and all collaborators, no child will leave without a smile and a toy,” she assured.
As part of these efforts, DIF Playa del Carmen, led by Eduardo Asencio, brought festivities to 13 communities, where activities included piñatas, games, recreational activities, and family gathering spaces. Each child received toys, juices, candies, and snacks, reaffirming the authorities’ commitment to creating healthy recreational environments.
