Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The state government, through the DIF Quintana Roo social welfare agency and the DIF Playa del Carmen, held simultaneous Children’s Day celebrations in more than 100 communities across the state, including 13 localities in the municipality of Solidaridad. The events brought color, laughter, and memorable moments to thousands of families.
The official launch in Playa del Carmen took place in front of the Municipal DIF offices. State Government Secretary Cristina Torres, along with Eduardo Asencio, honorary president of DIF Playa del Carmen; Director General Deyanira Martínez; Bárbara Alpuche, representative of the State DIF in the Northern Zone; and other authorities, flagged off 13 vehicles forming a convoy headed to various communities.
During his speech, Eduardo Asencio celebrated that children would receive great surprises thanks to the coordinated work between the state government, led by Governor Mara Lezama, and the municipal government headed by Mayor Estefanía Mercado.
Cristina Torres reiterated that “girls and boys come first” and emphasized that the main goal is for every child to have an unforgettable day. “With the teamwork of the Municipal DIF, State DIF, and all collaborators, no child will leave without a smile and a toy,” she assured.
As part of the activities, DIF Playa del Carmen, led by Eduardo Asencio, brought festivities to 13 communities, featuring piñatas, games, recreational activities, and family gathering spaces. Each child received toys, juice, candy, and snacks, reaffirming the authorities’ commitment to fostering healthy recreation environments.
One of the most emotional moments occurred in Puerto Aventuras, where Eduardo Asencio led the celebration at the municipal domed venue. Hundreds of children enjoyed laughter, dancing, and enthusiasm during the “Magic of Children” show, along with the traditional piñata breaking, in an atmosphere of joy that reaffirms that children are a priority in the municipality.
