Minatitlán, Veracruz — A coordinated operation between federal and state authorities has resulted in the seizure of more than 82,000 liters of allegedly stolen hydrocarbons, along with multiple tanker trucks and vehicles used for transport, in the municipality of Minatitlán, Veracruz.
Officials said the deployment followed intelligence work that located a property allegedly used for the illegal storage and distribution of fuel. At the site, authorities found cargo units and containers holding large volumes of hydrocarbons, which they suspect are linked to fuel theft activities.
Security personnel secured the area to prevent risks to the public while specialized staff inspected the seized material. The vehicles and fuel are now in the custody of the State Prosecutor’s Office, which has opened an investigation to determine responsibility.
The seizure is part of ongoing actions against the theft and illegal commercialization of fuel in southern Veracruz, a region historically affected by networks dedicated to fuel theft due to its petroleum infrastructure and distribution routes.
Authorities have not yet reported any arrests related to this case, but investigations continue to identify potential suspects and determine the operation of the criminal network.
