The municipal president of Solidaridad, Estefanía Mercado, and the governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, have announced a significant investment in the rehabilitation of the second park in Villas del Sol. The project, funded by the Fund for the Strengthening of Municipalities (Fortamun), will see around 17 million pesos invested in the area. The project includes the development of sports courts with covered stands, a multipurpose recreational area, exercise equipment, an open theater, access arches, playgrounds, lighting, benches, landscaping, ramps for universal accessibility, and improvement of the dancing fountain.

This project is expected to benefit 45,000 residents of Villas del Sol and neighboring communities. It forms part of the wider efforts to rebuild the social fabric in Playa del Carmen and contribute to peacebuilding in the municipality. "We're starting with great news for Solidaridad. We've already inaugurated the first of the works announced at the beginning of this administration, which is the civic plaza of the town hall of Puerto Aventuras," said Municipal President Mercado. She also noted that repaving works on the city's main streets and avenues began earlier this week, starting with the project on 115 avenue, between Juárez and 11 Sur. "This year, we will invest a record 900 million pesos in infrastructure works for the benefit of all Solidaridad residents," she added.

Governor Mara Lezama praised the rehabilitation project of the second park of Villas del Sol, highlighting its potential to promote family coexistence and strengthen community and social wellbeing. "Creating worthy and safe public spaces for families to enjoy will allow us to continue regenerating the social fabric and building peace and tranquility. That's what the New Agreement for Wellbeing and Development of Quintana Roo is all about, working together to rehabilitate these spaces for families," she said. Lezama added that, together with Municipal President Mercado, they are committed to bringing social justice to all areas of Solidaridad. "We are heading for more works that generate shared prosperity," she concluded.
