Isla Mujeres Civil Protection and Fire Station Nears Completion in Costa Mujeres
Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde toured the nearly finished Civil Protection and Fire Station in Costa Mujeres, located in Punta Sam, where final equipment and furnishing work is underway.
During the visit, Gómez highlighted the development of infrastructure in the Punta Sam area, which already includes a Command and Control Center (C2). The new base will complement that center to provide faster and more efficient emergency response, strengthening safety for local families and visitors.
The mayor reported that furniture installation and interior space adjustments have been completed. Three fire trucks have arrived and will become part of the station’s operational equipment.
Gómez added that personnel are fully trained and ready to begin operations once the facility is officially inaugurated.
The new infrastructure responds to the growth of Costa Mujeres and Punta Sam, expanding emergency response capacity and bolstering preventive and reactive measures, she said.
