Mérida, Yucatán — The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) is promoting an interactive educational portal called “Cuéntame de México” (Tell Me About Mexico), designed to introduce elementary school children to statistics and geography through clear language, visuals, activities, and games.
According to Josefa Griselda Sosa Andrade, INEGI’s state coordinator for Yucatán, the site is a practical tool for parents and teachers, though it is open to anyone interested in learning about Mexico’s data in a visual way.
“It also offers material for teachers and parents. That doesn’t mean it’s exclusive to them — it’s for anyone who wants to learn about the statistics and geography of our country through visual methods,” Sosa Andrade said.
The portal features characters that guide users through the learning process. It can be accessed via a banner on INEGI’s main website at www.inegi.org.mx or through a direct URL.
Sosa Andrade announced that on April 30, Children’s Day in Mexico, INEGI will release a new section called “Imagina” (Imagine) for first and second graders, completing the coverage for elementary education levels.
