Four Cuban nationals arrested with drugs in Cancun hotel zone

Cancun, Quintana Roo — Four Cuban nationals were arrested in Cancun’s hotel zone on drug charges following a joint security operation, authorities said.

The arrests took place at kilometer 1.5 of Boulevard Kukulcán as part of the Blindaje Cancún program, which focuses on security in high-traffic tourist areas. Officers from the Cancun Police, the State Prosecutor’s Office, the National Guard, the Mexican Army, and the Mexican Navy participated in the operation.

Officials said the suspects were caught with 194 doses of a green herb resembling marijuana, 16 doses of a granular substance resembling crystal meth, and other evidence related to drug crimes.

The detainees were identified as Ediberto “N,” Nicolás “N,” Pablo “N,” and Hans “N.” They were turned over to the appropriate authorities to determine their legal status.
