Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A judge has ordered pretrial detention for five men accused of drug dealing after police seized marijuana, methamphetamine, and an arsenal of weapons in two separate operations in Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos.

The State Prosecutor’s Office said Luis Manuel “N” was arrested in Playa del Carmen carrying marijuana and methamphetamine allegedly intended for sale. A judge reviewed the evidence and ordered him to stand trial.

In a separate incident, Ezequiel “N”, Enrique “N”, Eduardo Neftalí “N”, and Brayan Alejandro “N” were caught red-handed on the Puerto Morelos-Leona Vicario highway near the Ruta de los Cenotes. They were also charged with possession of marijuana for supply purposes.

During the arrests, authorities seized an arsenal of weapons. Investigations are ongoing to determine the origin of the firearms and whether the suspects are linked to a criminal group.

All five defendants will remain in pretrial detention while the judicial process continues.
