Playa del Carmen — A fire reported on sunday morning at an automotive repair shop in the Colonia Ejido neighborhood of Playa del Carmen was brought under control by members of the Fire Department, who managed to extinguish the flames before they could spread, resulting only in material damages.
The incident was reported at approximately 9:40 AM on Sunday at a business located on Calle 4, at the corner of Avenida 55.
The rapid intervention of emergency services was crucial to containing the situation. Upon arrival at the location, firefighters concentrated their efforts on limiting the advance of the flames. After twenty minutes of maneuvers, the fire was completely extinguished, a task which required the use of approximately one thousand liters of water.
While the exact cause of the incident remains under investigation, initial hypotheses suggest it may have originated from a short circuit. The damage was limited to material losses within the workshop, including damage to the paint of one of the vehicles that was inside the establishment.
