Fire Extinguished at Playa del Carmen Apartment; No Injuries Reported
Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Firefighters extinguished a fire late Wednesday night in a second-floor apartment at the Selvanova residential complex, with no injuries reported.
The blaze broke out shortly before midnight in a bedroom of an apartment in the Coto 6 private street. Authorities believe a short circuit may have sparked the fire, which destroyed a bed, television, air conditioner, and a closet with clothes.
Firefighters arrived quickly and contained the flames within minutes, preventing them from spreading to the rest of the unit. Residents of the building evacuated to the street as emergency crews worked.
No injuries or smoke inhalation were reported. Only material damage was recorded, officials said.
