Fire at CFE Substation in Cancun Causes Power Outages Across Multiple Areas

Cancun, Quintana Roo — A fire at a Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) substation in Cancun’s Supermanzana 96 early Wednesday morning left several areas without power, authorities said.

Emergency protocols were activated around 2 a.m. after reports of the blaze at the facility on Avenida Chac Mool, between Avenidas Andres Quintana Roo and Nichupte. Firefighters, civil protection personnel, and police officers responded to the scene and cordoned off the area.

The fire caused power outages in various parts of the city. Officials have not yet disclosed the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage.
