Cancun, Quintana Roo — Agents from the Federal Prosecutor’s Office (FGR), supported by the Mexican Army, Navy, and National Guard, raided a property in Cancun’s Region 75 on Wednesday as part of an investigation into drug dealing.

The operation took place on Francisco I. Madero Avenue, also known as Ruta 4, near the extension of Tulum Avenue. Unofficial reports indicate at least one person was detained at the scene, which authorities suspect was a safe house. The FGR has not officially confirmed any arrests or released the results of the search.

Federal investigators collected evidence inside the building, which did not appear to be a typical family home. According to observations at the scene, the structure featured interconnected hallways and access points between houses, forming a labyrinth-like layout that authorities believe was designed by those operating drug sales in the area.

To map these passageways, federal agents deployed a drone to fly over the property and document the internal routes connecting the buildings.

Authorities are investigating whether the safe house is linked to a criminal cell or a suspected leader controlling drug distribution in this part of Cancun. Military personnel, naval forces, and National Guard officers have cordoned off the perimeter while ministerial staff process the scene.
