Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A bus driver for the Del Valle transportation company caused a traffic accident resulting in one injured person after attempting to cross into the Villas Riviera subdivision.
The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. when the driver of a Del Valle bus was traveling northbound on Avenida del Carmen. Upon reaching the intersection with Avenida Universidades, the driver failed to come to a complete stop.
A motorcyclist riding a white Vento 200 motorcycle was traveling on Avenida Universidades and, unable to brake in time, collided with the side of the bus. The impact left the motorcyclist with injuries to his back and legs. Paramedics were required to provide treatment at the scene, as the individual was unable to stand due to the pain.
Following the collision, Municipal Transit authorities arrived at the location to conduct an investigation and determine liability. The involved parties subsequently reached an agreement for damages to be covered by the bus company's insurance provider. The roadway was cleared following the authorities' assessment.
