Cozumel, Quintana Roo — Guadalupe Church in Cozumel announced it will hold its traditional living Stations of the Cross during Holy Week 2026, an event expected to draw more than 5,000 participants to the island.
Parish priest Juan José Soto invited the community and the deanery to take part in the Good Friday activities, highlighting the spiritual and social importance of the representation.
The events will begin at noon with a Meditative Stations of the Cross focused on reflection, followed by the Living Stations of the Cross at 6:30 p.m., considered the most anticipated event for the faithful.
The representation has an uninterrupted tradition of more than 40 years in Cozumel, establishing itself as one of the region’s most significant religious expressions.
The event will involve between 50 and 80 actors portraying scenes from the Passion of Christ, in a procession starting from 65th Avenue to the Port Captaincy.
Church authorities noted that this activity not only strengthens faith but also unites the community around values and traditions that are part of Cozumel’s identity.
