Cancún, Quintana Roo — A new confrontation between drivers from the Andrés Quintana Roo taxi union and airport transfer operators played out in front of foreign tourists in Cancún, according to video of the incident shared on social media.

The footage shows the airport transport drivers allegedly approaching a group of foreign visitors outside Plaza Las Américas to offer them rides, setting off a dispute over the passengers.

The workers then traded complaints in front of the travelers and their relatives, who were standing with their luggage waiting to board a vehicle.

In the images, several operators can be seen surrounding the vehicles and engaging in a heated argument while the tourists remain in the middle of the confrontation.

Repeat of an Ongoing Feud

The episode highlights the long-running friction over tourist transport service in Cancún, where rival driver groups have repeatedly argued in plain view of visitors.

The dispute comes as Cancún receives thousands of national and international visitors, and the public clashes have raised concerns about the image the destination projects to travelers.
