Cancun, Quintana Roo — Four people were arrested Monday during a joint security operation in Cancun’s Supermanzana 260, where authorities seized firearms, ammunition, and suspected narcotics.

The operation, part of the ongoing Blindaje Cancun strategy, involved the Municipal Public Security and Transit Department, the State Prosecutor’s Office, the National Guard, the Mexican Army, and the Mexican Navy, officials said.

During the raid, officers found 132 small plastic bags containing a green, dry plant resembling marijuana, as well as 80 wrappers with a granular substance consistent with crystal methamphetamine.

Authorities also confiscated a .223-caliber long rifle with a magazine loaded with eight rounds, and a 9mm pistol with a magazine and six rounds.

Those arrested were identified as Heidi Adela N., 33; Antonio N., 29; Manuel Alberto N., 24; and Jose Eduardo N., 31. They are being investigated for drug dealing offenses.

The four suspects were handed over to the appropriate authorities, who will determine their legal status as investigations continue.
