Cancun, Quintana Roo — Authorities discovered the body of a man with signs of violence at a construction site in Cancun on Wednesday afternoon.

The site is located in the Region 260 neighborhood, between the Real Valencia and Ciudad Natura housing developments.

Emergency services received a report via the 911 hotline, prompting a response from municipal police and state and federal agencies coordinated through the C5 security complex.

Officers arriving at the scene confirmed the presence of a man’s body inside the construction area. They cordoned off the zone and called in the State Prosecutor’s Office to begin an investigation.

Investigative police and forensic experts processed the scene, collected evidence, and transported the body to the Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy.

The victim remains unidentified. Preliminary reports indicate the body showed multiple signs of violence. The Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation to determine the circumstances of the crime and identify those responsible.
